Tips for Made to Measure Clients

	It is important to allow sufficient time for consultation, choice and sourcing of fabrics, toile (mock-up of the garment in calico or a basic fabric to ensure a perfect fit and to finalise design details) and fittings. Timescales are affected by the complexity of the design, any design modifications requested, the fabrics chosen and on the sophistication of embellishment.  As a guideline, for Bridal gowns your booking should be made at least 6 months in advance of the date; for Bridesmaids and Evening wear allow 6-12 weeks and longer for delivery during the busy summer months.   Please note that the quality of our service means we are much in demand and are frequently fully booked several months in advance; therefore we advise early booking to avoid disappointment.
	After an initial telephone or email conversation bring along your ideas, drawings, pictures etc to your first consultation when design and fabrics will be discussed.
	Formal quotations and terms & conditions are issued for your consideration and a deposit will secure your booking.  Further appointments for consultation, measurements and fittings will then progress.  Please note that although several visits are necessary, your Bridesmaids who do not live in the locality can usually be accommodated within a weekend visit provided sufficient notice is given.
	Hilary Jane Designs are able to source a wide variety of Bridal and evening fabrics, but (depending on fabric suitability) will also quote for construction from fabrics of your personal supply. To ensure the highest quality haberdashery materials will always be supplied by Hilary Jane Designs.
